"I would call you cowards and tell you to turn around and face me like men, but I'm kind of in my pink underwear today and I'd rather you didn't."

Jordan's voice carried over Zeppelin's back as she hopped on one foot, trying to get her other foot out of her breeches. Zep had been edged over against the wall of the trullo so she could change, since Dean was showering and Lisa was off talking to someone official about something or other. That left her to 'entertain' the Vechnyy guys.

Her version of entertaining was keeping a running conversation going while she changed and while they changed. Because they could show their top halves in public without someone pitching a bitch fit.

Ugh, dresses.

"Does either of you remember what time this shindig is supposed to start?" she asked over Zep's back, fitting the dress's sleeves over her shoulders with a shudder of revulsion. "And exactly how formal the eating style is supposed to be. Because I'm used to wings and a beer. Not this... fancy-schmancy stuff."

"If it makes you feel any better I'm not wearing underwear." Keke called over his shoulder as Jakobi stood at his side, scowling. "But I'm also not sure on both counts. Usually formal dinners start at like 8 so I hope it's not too long since my boys are showing up for the drinks at like 9:30. It's probably pretty fancy though, I imagine we'll have at least two forks and all that shit."

Jakobi narrowed his eyes, grabbing Keke's maroon velvet jacket and holding it out at arms length as if it was evidence. "Have you guys really never been to a formal dinner before? He's ancient and European how have you never had to sit through something like this."

Keke straightened up, snatching the jacket out of Jakobi's hands and shrugging it on. "Well I don't know about Jordan but I used to be a stripper and a heroin addict so I didn't get invited to a ton of stuff. I've also never heard of a formal dinner being held in America and if they are it sounds like a rich white people activity."

"That... does make me feel just a little better, actually," Jordan laughed, lifting her right arm and twisting to try and locate the zipper on this damned article of clothing. It was entirely too breezy for her comfort. "Ooh, two forks? I think it's from the outside in, right? Or is it the other way around?" she muttered, leaning against Zeppelin's hip so he'd scoot over and walking out to meet the guys. The only good thing about dresses was that they could be put on quickly. Sometimes. Occasionally.

"And to answer your question, no, I've never been to one," she told Jakobi, reaching back to make sure her hair was pinned down correctly. "The closest I've gotten was in 1998 during my grandmother's eightieth. It was some uppity restaurant, had to dress nice. ... I've tried to avoid similar dinners since. If Lisa hadn't been on my ass to go, I honestly wouldn't've."

She did raise her eyebrows at Keke, however. "I've heard those don't make a good combination. But, alas, you're right--" Jordan patted Keke's arm. "-- It's a rich white people activity."

"What's this about white people?"

Dean emerged from the trullo, this time without smacking his head on the doorway. His tie was more knotted than tied. "I swear, I can tie a bowtie but these things are useless."

"For the love of all hell, Dean, even I can tie a double winsor," Jordan grumbled, walking over to fix it for him. "But yeah, no, I don't think either of us has been to a serious dinner or anything. Especially not this late at night. Unless it's a late night nacho run."

"That's how we found out Zeppelin enjoys tomatoes and cheese," Dean added helpfully, choking as Jordan tightened the tie a little too much.

"Fancy dinners are a white people thing." Keke replied, buttoning his jacket and turning around. "Outside of weddings who even has the time to do that?"

"Not you," Jakobi narrowed his eyes. "I went to your wedding and you had a champagne fountain that you chugged at one point. I think every adult there was drunk."

Keke waved a hand to silence him. "Yeah including you, besides you're not even going to this dinner for fun. Long and boring as they may be it's still free food and alcohol and we get to do whatever we want afterwards."

Jakobi turned to Jordan and Dean, pointing a thumb over his shoulder at the large mansion behind them. "That's really worth it for you guys to go, just for the fancy food? I'm only going for the business opportunities, it really helps to have the connections in the horse world even if you only see them once a year."
