holding a horse equipment seminar and when you get there its just a whiteboard with the words "LEG BOOTS OFFER NO REAL PROTECTION AND ACTUALLY INCREASE THE LIKELIHOOD OF INJURY"
hey kids do you think that HARPG shows having you write a story with a required word count to earn extra points has made you a better or worse writer? and if you say better, how good of a writer do you realistically think you were before? and if you've got a storyline (i'm already so proud of you just for having a storyline) and you're using shows to further it do you genuinely feel like shows are the most correct vessel for the story? and if so, did you design the storyline specifically to use shows as their vessel? bonus question: if you are someone who consistently writes stories for their show entries do you ever get burnt out having to write both a full story and draw the show entry? personally i do get burnt out having to do both and i think it's made me a worse writer over time. the one time i entered a lit show a few years ago i was judged very poorly which i think is fair except as a teenager i was a (very small) award winning fiction writer. it only occurred to me recently
im seeing a lot of zlesdins gaiting right now so this is a psa that the gait they're doing in the new import lines and that im exclusively seeing people depict is of gallop speed if not even faster than non-racing breeds can gallop if the horse is good. horses going trot or canter speed will always have two feet on the ground, look up saddle rack or stepping pace for those (yeah yeah yeah the gaited horse cheat sheet is like halfway done, im going as fast as i can)
